About Me
The “FNA” in FNA Photography is a nod to my familial ties to Freetown, Sierra Leone (abbreviated FNA). With my cultural background not being as easily recognizable, it taught me early in life to be curious about the stories of other people and places. I have carried that into my photography, where I aim capture unique moments that showcase the authentic parts of the people and places involved.
Born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, the unofficial dividing line for the St. Louis Cardinals/Chicago Cubs rivalry, I quickly grew an appreciation for sports. After winning two games in as many years of middle school baseball I decided to focus my athletic endeavors on other sports which eventually led to me being recruited to compete in Division 1 track and field and at Marquette University.
I later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for graduate school, and have resided in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area since, regularly covering amateur, college, and professional sports, while also working on a variety of wedding, portraiture, and commercial projects both in the region and beyond.
Whether you are looking to say hi, or you are interested in working on a project together please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to meeting you and seeing what stories we can create.
